But if Danny gets locked up, the worst thing about being in jail is not knowing if your people are OK. Decide for yourself what OK means. You can probably intuit what I mean. But if this happens, and it isn't looking unlikely, we need to start planning for what we can do to mitigate what lockup here could be like.

Maybe he wants another offering. I'm not saying march up and tell him I'll pull my liver out, in case anybody thinks I'm about to put myself into trouble. But testing the waters probably just gets us ignored, at worst.

i don't know if he's the one feeding, or if he's feeding something else. i think maybe we've always been feeding something here, but it's hungrier outside of the estate. or maybe it has more direct access to us. does that make sense? i don't know.

i think he needs the game to be played by the rules, maybe. he seems like he needs to follow the rules, doesn't he? like they're important.

Embry is self-sacrificing. This is his need. It's how he proves his love for his people, I think. Through his body. But I think they can turn his head, too. They're his neck, his spine.
I don't know if Hawk is like that. He relates to me differently than he does you guys. But they both act like they hate Danny and they go back to him over and over. So who do they really hate?

They muddied those waters themselves. Anything they say about Jem can't be clean.
